Learn4Life was a proud major sponsor of and participant in the United Way’s 10th Anniversary HomeWalk, an annual 5K family run/walk fundraiser to generate awareness and end homelessness in Los Angeles County.
Ending homelessness is a team effort and one that is very much aligned with the Learn4Life mission of improving lives and empowering communities. Learn4Life took part in the run/walk with teachers, administrators and staff coming together for a day of camaraderie and charity. Three community teams from Antelope Valley, Los Angeles, and the Santa Clarita, Simi and San Fernando Valleys joined forces to raise more than $6,000 for the cause.
Learn4Life teams joined nearly 12,000 participants who gathered in Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles to walk for the cause, raising over $1 million in total. These funds will go toward helping the county’s 47,000 homeless men, women, and children suffering from homelessness in Los Angeles County, of which more than 3,000 are veterans. Over the past nine years, HomeWalk has raised over $6.5 million, helping to house 17,000 people.
