(March 4, 2020) PARENT/STUDENT UPDATE:
Dear Parent/Guardian/Student,
With the continuous news and updates about the Coronavirus, I’m sure you have questions about how it might affect your school. We are closely monitoring the situation and following recommended protocols. The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority.
Currently, we are:
- Following recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
- Working closely with local and state public health departments
- Providing hand sanitizing stations
- Regularly disinfecting desks, keyboards and other surfaces
- Providing health resources for those who show symptoms
While the CDC considers this a serious public health concern, based on current information, the immediate health risk from Coronovirus to the general American public is considered low at this time.
However, it is important that everyone do their part to prevent the spread of germs. Some good reminders are:
- If you are a student and sick, please do not come to school.
- If you are a parent and your student is sick, please do not send him/her to school.
- To prevent getting sick, remember to wash your hands frequently.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Avoid taking advice from non-official websites and social media.
If the situation changes and should any of our schools need to be closed, we will and communicate details to you by email, phone and text. We will minimize a disruption in learning by making sure students have access to other Learn4Life locations and/or extra study packets.
Keep up with the latest news about the Coronavirus outbreak and actions recommended by the Centers for Disease Control online at https://cdc.gov/. If you have questions, please reach out to your teacher or principal.
