Principal's Message

On behalf of the Griffin Family, I thank you for trusting us to be your educational partner. We take pride in the opportunity to offer your student a personalized alternative to a traditional setting.  The vision of our independent study model is to change the lives of students whose needs are not being met at a traditional school. Students will take responsibility for their education, recognize opportunities for personal growth and success, and graduate with the skills they need for college and/or a career.

While we offer an alternative to traditional education, our team is dedicated to ensuring that our academic program offers students and equitable opportunity to thrive in a post-secondary option.  Specifically, our students can engage in dual enrollment courses to gain college and high school credit; participate in CTE programs to earn professional skills and certificates; and even serve our community through civic engagement.  In addition, our setting is designed to help a student accelerate credit-recovery. Because of our commitment to excellence, equity, and the social/emotional well-being of our students, an individual academic plan is created for each student’s success.

Even through the challenges of distance teaching and learning, we are resolved to help our students obtain their high school diploma. Our students will continue to engage their teachers one-on-one in a virtual platform.  Should students need technology to participate in their learning, it will be provided.  At the same time, if students need social and emotional supports navigating these challenging times, our Care Team is ready to support. More importantly, to drive a positive culture and to keep you informed, we host weekly forums to engage both our students and parents.

We look to working with you this year!  Please look for opportunities to inform our practice through parent meetings, survey, and forums.  Should you have questions or concerns, please reach out to a member of our Team.  We look forward to another successful year!

-Tinisha Hamberlin, Principal
