Being a teen mom was difficult for Shanelle, so she relied on help from her mother. After losing her mother in 2008, all odds were stacked against her.

With the help from Learn4Life staff, including her Supervising Teacher, Mrs. Norte and tutors, Sally Yung & Theresa Schaefer, Changed Her Story.

Since Shanelle graduated from Learn4Life in 2011, she has gone on to graduate from UCLA in June 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Art (BA) degree in Sociology and Gender Studies.
