Accountability
Highest Education Standards
In order to graduate and receive their high school diploma, students are required to meet state standards set by the each state’s Department of Education. Students are promoted when they prove mastery of the coursework, not just based on the amount of time spent in the class. In California, our courses adhere to the A-G College Entrance Requirements; a rigorous sequence of course requirements in seven subject areas to be eligible for acceptance into the California State University or University of California systems.
Dashboard Alternative School Status
All schools in the Learn4Life network qualify under the Dashboard Alternative School Status (DASS) accountability model. For more information click here.
WASC Accreditation
All Learn4Life resource centers are Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools. WASC accreditation is a school improvement process that serves as the foundation for quality education. Accreditation is a voluntary dual-purpose process that schools must be worthy of the trust placed in them to provide high-quality learning and clearly demonstrate continual self-improvement through assessment, planning, implementation, monitoring, and reassessment based upon student achievement.
Benefits of WASC accreditation include:
- Students can be assured that the institutions in which they seek to enroll have been reviewed and the educational programs that are offered have been evaluated for quality.
- The public is assured that accredited institutions are evaluated extensively, conform to expectations of performance, reflects high standards of quality, and operate with integrity.
A-G requirements
To prepare our students for life after high school, Learn4Life adheres to the A-G College Entrance Requirements, a rigorous sequence of course requirements in seven subject areas that students must complete in order to be eligible for acceptance into the California State University or University of California systems.
Local Control
All of our resource centers are approved and monitored regularly by a local authorizing school board that ensures Learn4Life meets all necessary California Department of Education academic standards and requirements in order for our students to be successful. The authorizing board also assures the organization is financially stable and viable. We are academically accountable in two ways by being accountable to our authorizers and to the student and families we serve.
